Lacrosse, known as the “Creator’s Game,” is a sport deeply rooted in Indigenous North American cultures. Originally played to unify communities, build leadership, and honor the Creator, it carries forward powerful traditions and values. Today, lacrosse continues to teach teamwork, discipline, and respect, helping young people grow mentally and physically, build resilience, and foster a lifelong appreciation for an active lifestyle. More than just a sport, lacrosse is a legacy that shapes well-rounded individuals, teaching essential lessons about life, humanity, and connection through athleticism. We believe strongly in these principles and adopt them as a core component of our program.

We will be starting our Sunday “drop-in” sessions From 7:00 to 8:30 PM on January 12, 2025 at the South Y, located at 3000 Racquet Club Drive Traverse City , MI (off of South Airport across from Logan’s Landing). We will continue for approximately the next 8 Sundays.
This is designed for players of all ages and abilities. We will form appropriate groups for instruction. You do not need equipment or a stick if you do not have it. If you do, please bring it with you. If you are not a new player this is a great opportunity to get the rust off and be ready when Spring rolls around.
You will need to register and purchase a punch card. Each session will cost a punch and any leftover punches can be used next year. You can take care of this at the first session or can drop by any Y location to pick one up before Sunday.
The cost is as follows:
If you will be sending your child with someone else, please click here to download and complete the waiver form and send it with your child on Sunday. This is a requirement of the Y to participate.
Please email any questions to info@tcylc.org. We hope to see you Sunday!
We will be partnering with the YMCA to offer some indoor introductory sessions this winter at the South Y off of South Airport Rd.

We are excited to have partnered with the Grand Traverse Bay YMCA to bring a new youth lacrosse experience to the Traverse City area! This program is designed to introduce young athletes to the sport of lacrosse in a fun and supportive environment. This program will focus on skill development and learning the beginning concepts of team play.
Our TC United Greyhounds Lacrosse program is for players who have had some playing experience and are looking to take their skills to the next level. We will be playing extremely competitive lacrosse in a number of tournaments this Spring and Summer.
