A necessary Resource for Pursuing College Lacrosse

As our players grow in the sport, many begin to think about the possibility of playing lacrosse at the collegiate level. We recognize that the recruiting process can be complex and difficult to navigate.

To better support our athletes with these goals, Traverse City Youth Lacrosse Club is providing access to IMLCA Sports Recruits, the official recruiting platform used by college coaches. In addition to this tool, we will also offer personal one-on-one guidance to help our players through the process of effectively utilizing this platform.

This is a resource designed to help organize and focus your recruiting efforts. I have personally spoken with numerous college coaches who have confirmed they use this platform daily to find and evaluate potential student-athletes.

What is IMLCA Sports Recruits?

IMLCA Sports Recruits is the official platform of the Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA). It is the primary tool used by coaches at all collegiate levels (NCAA Division I, II, III, and MCLA) to manage their recruiting.

Key Features of the Platform:

• Player Profile: A central place to build a comprehensive athletic and academic resume, including stats, honors, contact information, and transcripts.
• Video Tools: Easily upload game film and use the built-in editor to create highlight reels.
• College Search: A tool to filter and find schools that are a good fit based on athletics, academics, location, and size.
• Direct Messaging: A system to communicate directly and professionally with college coaches.
• Activity Tracking: The ability to see which college coaches are viewing your profile or watching your videos.

How This Platform Helps Our Players

Using the official platform helps put your information in a place where coaches are actively looking.

• Direct Visibility: Since this is the IMLCA's official platform, it provides a direct line to college coaching staffs.
• Facilitates Outreach: The recruiting process requires players to be proactive. College coaches have told me directly that they expect prospects to reach out to them. This platform gives you the tools to research schools, identify programs of interest, and send your profile directly to their staff.
• Understanding Coach Interest: The tracking feature is very helpful. Seeing which schools are viewing your profile helps you understand where you might be getting noticed, allowing you to focus your efforts more effectively. Coaches also post what positions they are actively recruiting.

Our Commitment: Personalized Guidance

A tool like this is most effective with the right support. That’s why we will be here to help you use it well. Our guidance for each player includes:

• Profile Setup: We will personally help you build a polished and compelling profile.
• Highlight Reel Advice: We can work together to select the best clips and create a reel that effectively showcases your skills.
• Communication Help: We can provide templates and guidance on how to write      professional introductory emails to coaches.
• Strategic Planning: We can meet to discuss your goals, identify a list of potential schools (reach, target, and likely), and map out a timeline.
• Interpreting Data: We will help you understand the activity on your profile and      decide on the best next steps.
• Mentorship & Support: We will be available as a resource for you throughout the ups and downs of the recruiting journey. We will also invite your high school coaches to join and participate in your recruitment process.

Program Cost and Details

The cost for a one-year membership to IMLCA Sports Recruits, which includes our club's personalized support, is $250.00 per player. Our club’s annual cycle runs from June 1st to May 31st. Since we are rolling this out now, the prorated cost for the remainder of this cycle (through May 31, 2025) is $175.00 per player.

If you were to purchase an individual Pro plan directly from SportsRecruits, the cost $400.00 annually or $99.00 a month.

How to Get Started

We plan to get our first group of athletes set up on the platform by September 2025.

1. Confirm Your Interest: Please respond to this email to express your interest or to ask any questions. We can schedule a personal call to discuss if this is the right fit for you.
2. Registration: If you decide to move forward, we will get you registered and SportsRecruits will send you a unique link to gain access and set up your profile.
3. Schedule Our First Meeting: After you register, I will reach out to schedule our initial one-on-one strategy session.

We are excited to offer this valuable resource to our players. Our primary commitment is to develop great young men and lacrosse players, and that includes helping them pursue their goals beyond our club.

We have 22 player slots assigned to TCYLC and will give preference to Seniors and Juniors during our initial cycle.
