With the 2025 LAX season creeping upon us, we want to provide you with a comprehensive update regarding our transition from the YMCA program to the TC Youth Lacrosse Club (TCYLC). There is a lot of information packed in this email, but our hope is that it will provide all of the specifics our lacrosse families need to be both comfortable with this transition and excited for our community’s lacrosse future!

The good news is that we will remain partnered with the YMCA, with both groups helping to support and grow lacrosse in our community.

• The Y programming will be focused on instructional and skill building for beginners.
• 6-Week Programs starting April 10th with potential for additional consecutive sessions, no equipment or travel requirements
• TCYLC will run/manage the more advanced travel program

Board/Involvement

This fall the TCYLC Board was formed, and we have now met twice over the last month. We are all very excited about the future of the club and the potential for our programming and impact for our kids.

We understand that there was a lot of interest in board participation, but unfortunately were not able to include everyone. How lucky are we to have such a large group of people interested in making TCYLC a success!

With that, we recognize that this interest and support from our parents/community members is essential to the future of TCYLC and we do want your involvement! We are hoping to do some exciting things with both the program and in our community to grow lacrosse in our area! 

Below is a link to a google form with a list of committees related to the club that we need YOUR help with! Please pick your interest/passion and join us to help make the TCYLC a success!

Team Name

We made the decision to maintain the TC United name, with the Greyhound as our mascot. Given that the youth program is a truly united group of kids from all around our area, with a history of success and accomplishments, we felt it was important to honor the name and are proud to carry it forward!

We are excited to unveil a few new logos! You can see them below! 

Fundraising

In order to ensure our TCYLC success, and truly advance all that we are able to provide for our players, we are looking at some fundraising opportunities. If you have any interest in helping us succeed, please sign up for the fundraising committee. We could use your ideas, and input regarding the best ways to proceed with this, as it will be new for the lacrosse community. 

2025 Season Updates

~Sunday Drop-ins will continue this year at the South-YMCA

• Starting Sunday January 5th
• Tentatively 6-7:30 pm (will finalize shortly) with potential for wall-ball practice starting earlier.
• Punch card for drop-in available at the Y main desk
• 4 punch: $20 Member, $28 Non-member
• 8 punch: $40 Member, $56 Non-member

~New this year is the ability to use the old racquetball courts at the south Y for wall-ball!

• Y Members can use as walk-in when available and only when a coach is present but can use the wall next to the pickle ball courts any time and without coach supervision.
• Please reinforce responsible wallball use, if it gets too rough or wild we run the risk of losing this option.

~Registration for Spring Lacrosse will be open January 15th

• Registration cost forthcoming, but should be in-line with prior costs though the Y

~All participants must be USA Lacrosse members

~Spring Practice will begin in March/April

• Practices will be held at East Middle School and may alternate between a west-side location as well.

~Tournament schedule is being worked on currently

• Tournaments will start in April/May
• You will see many familiar tourneys from previous years, with some NEW ones potentially as well!

~SWAG

• We are working to get T-shirts and sweatshirts for purchase! Stay Tuned!

~Communication/Social Media

• Primary communication will be via email or TeamSnap once teams are formed
• Our website will have up-to-date information
• Soon to come will be new Instagram/Facebook pages that we can use to share information if you use these sites! More info and links once set-up!

Going forward, communication will be consistent. Please expect another update in the beginning of January with more information regarding registration specifics.  

Our goal is to elevate and grow the love of lacrosse in our community and we can’t do that without your support! We are so appreciative of your patience as we get TCYLC off the ground and running!!
