Skill Development and League Play - Grand Traverse Bay YMCA

We have partnered with the Grand Traverse Bay YMCA to bring you a new youth lacrosse program! This program is designed to introduce young athletes to the sport of lacrosse in a fun and supportive environment.

Skill Development: Weekly instructional sessions focused on building fundamental lacrosse skills.

In-House League Play: Opportunities to apply learned skills in friendly matches.

Flexible Commitment: No travel or equipment purchase required for younger age groups.

Who Can Participate: Boys and girls in kindergarten through 8th grade are welcome to join. 

Where and When: All sessions will be held at the Grand Traverse Bay YMCA on Silver Lake Road beginning Thursday, April 10th from 5:30pm - 7pm

The TC United Greyhounds Lacrosse program is for players who want to play competitive lacrosse. 

We will be fielding boys' teams at the HS, 14U, 12U and 10U age levels

• 14U and 12U will play in 5 Spring and 2 Summer tournaments
• 10U will play in 2 Spring tournaments and players will also be expected to participate in the YMCA program
• HS will play in 3 Summer tournaments

Expect to practice 3 evenings a week until the start of the tournament season and then 2 evenings a week once tournament play begins. We are working with TCAPS on field locations for practice and will share that information as soon as it is finalized.

The tentative tournament schedule is listed below. This assumes we are able to register for all of our preferred tournaments. If not, alternative tournaments will be scheduled. We also plan on scheduling games with other programs, primarily before the start of the season, at no additional cost. 

Spring 14U/12U       

• April 26 & 27: Petoskey Elite, Boyne Mountain
• May 10:  Linden Youth Lax Showdown, Linden MI   
• May 17 & 18 PLL Invitational, Rockford MI   
• May 31 & June 1: Midwest Lax Bash Oxford MI   
• June 14 & 15: Great Lax Bay, Saginaw MI   

Summer 14U/12U       

• July 12 & 13: Summer Showdown, St. Joseph MI 
• July 19 & 20: Rip the Wave, South Bend IN    

Spring 10U

• May 3 & 4: Petoskey Festival, Boyne Mountain
• May 17 & 18 PLL Invitational, Rockford MI 

Summer HS

• June 14 & 15: Great Lax Bay, Saginaw MI  
• July 12 & 13: Summer Showdown, St. Joseph MI 
• July 19 & 20: Rip the Wave, South Bend IN  

We have broken costs down to give you a variety of options:

• 14U/12U Spring and Summer: $575.00
• 14U/12U Spring only: $375.00*
• 14U/12U Summer only: $225.00
• 10U Spring only: $150.00
• HS Summer: $325.00

     *Option to make two $200 payments ($400 total) for 14U/12U Spring only

Most of your registration fees go to tournament entry fees. These tournaments are already filling up (even the summer ones) and we need to register as soon as possible to play at our preferred locations. It is crucial for you to register as soon as possible so that we know how many teams to enter in each division for each tournament. As an incentive, all players registering before February 15 will be entered into a drawing to win a $100.00 lax.com gift card.
