How to Create Your NCAA ID Number

If you are interested in playing college lacrosse at the NCAA level, one of the first things you should do is create an NCAA Eligibility Center account. Once you do, you will receive an NCAA ID number that college coaches may request during the recruiting process. 

Step 1: Go to the NCAA Eligibility Center

Visit: https://eligibilitycenter.org or https://web3.ncaa.org/ecwr3/ 

Step 2: Create an Account

Click "Register" or "Create Account."

Use:

• Your personal email address (not a school email)
• A password you will remember
• Accurate personal information (name, DOB, address, etc.)

Step 3: Choose the Correct Account Type

If you are considering NCAA Division I or Division II athletics:

• Select Academic and Athletics Certification Account.

If you are unsure of your plans or are considering Division III:

• Select the Profile Page Account. This free option still provides you with an NCAA ID number. You can upgrade later if needed [This is the recommended approach for TCUnited athletes].

Step 4: Complete Your Profile

Be prepared to enter:

• Personal contact information
• High school information
• Sports participation history
• Graduation year

Step 5: Record Your NCAA ID Number

Once your account is created, you will receive an NCAA ID Number. Save it in a safe place and share it with college coaches when requested.

Step 6: Keep Your Account Updated

Throughout high school:

• Maintain your academic information.
• Communicate with your guidance counselor.
• Monitor your NCAA Eligibility Center dashboard for updates and requirements. 

Recommendation for TCU Players

All players interested in playing college lacrosse should create an NCAA ID number by the start of junior year, if not sooner. Even if you are unsure about playing NCAA lacrosse, having the ID number ready makes conversations with college coaches much easier. After you receive your NCAA ID number, email it to me and keep a copy for your recruiting records.
